This was one of the shaders I worked on for Mind Over Magic:
All of the rooms in our game used world coordinates for the UVs since the rooms are constructed dynamically by the player. This made it difficult to place any trim details on the walls of the room. I came up with a solution to allow us to use 9 slice texture to place trim details around the borders of the rooms.
The basic idea was getting the world space bounds of the room and then constructing UVs from the bounds. I then split that in to 9 separate UVs that are mapped to different parts of the 9 slice texture. I am very happy with how it turned it out! It brought a lot more character to the rooms.
All of the tilable textures here were also made by me.
